Best greens in NYC! Some long par 4's, some not so long. Almost always windy, links course near water. Use every club in your bag. Excellent public course! Did I mention the greens? Truly the best in NYC. I've been told by everyone who works there that the greenskeeper prides himself on the condition of his greens. They roll fast and true. Sometimes faster than the Black Course, and just as true.

4 stars overall because the rough still needs some work. Bethpage Black gets 5, Red gets 4, Montauk gets 4, Baltusrol gets 5. You get the idea. The fairways are almost perfect, though. The grass is really nice!

I could go on and on about the greens. They really are that nice. And, they are challenging! Try to stop a chip or pitch near the hole -- bring your short game, and don't go above the hole. Truly wonderful!

Customer Service

Barely playable. S*it everywhere. Slow golfers. Bad shape. Crap course. Save your money and take a lesson instead.

Playing Courses all over the NYC area & Long Island, It makes it very hard to give Marine PK a favorable rating. The course is wide open, so you can't get into too much trouble. The greens is probably the only part of the course I can truly appriciate, they are usually in greay shape & are very challenging! The course is also very long, so if you can't get 230-240 off the tee, you won't be getting home in regulation. Being a NYC public course you have to deal with the usual stuff like waiting at the 1st tee behind 4 other groups, and golfers in front of you taking 14 shots to get to the green. Improvements have been made over the last few years, but with city courses costing now over $30, I would recommend elsewhere. Rating before improvements - 2.5 out of 10 Rating after improvements - 4.0 out of 10

It is not the nicer of the two courses in Brooklyn, but it is definately the one worth playing if you want to finish 18 in one day; and like the fact that you don't have to wait at every tee at every hole.

This is one of the best NYC park courses. It is very long though for the average golfer. Generally wide open with few trees. All of the par 3s are long also (Most btw 160-180 yds).

Shoot in the 90s

Huge par 4's and 5's for big hitters.
Back nine presents substantially more challenge than front.
Nice wide fairways...Play the same ball all day!

A very nice course in better shape than most NY City courses. Maintentance has definitely improved since Mayor Guiliani took interest in golf! The Tees boxes and greens are in very good condition. The fairways can get a little thin in places. It does play long ( in time) especially on the weekend ( 5 hours or more)! By the way, I broke 100 for the first time here (91) !!!!

Nice course with wide fairways. Greens and fairways in good shape (great for NYC). Nice location and great value at $24.

Beats Van Cortlandt park, but not as challenging.

Also, avoid driving down Flatbush Ave. to get there. Traffic nightmare coming in from the city!
