Model Reviewed: Evergreen Country Club - Private

This is a good news/bad news course. There is plenty to complain about - at times - but there are also some positive things to say as well. First of all, this is a very long course with maybe a half dozen holes over 430 yards from the whites. It is, however, a generouse course with wide fairways to compensate. There are times indeed when it is in terrbile shape, but yesterday (after weeks of rain) is was in as good a shape as I've ever seen it. There were even people out working on the course! Greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in excellent shape. Bunkers haven't been raked in years, though. Reasonalble greens fees make this a legitimate choice if some attention is paid to the grounds, like it was today. Although it is called a "private" course, there are no restrictions to play. There is an island green which is almost always covered with geese droppings, and yardage markers could be added or improved on a few holes, especially the tee boxes on the par threes.

Customer Service

Not a smile to be found anywhere. No starter, no ranger, sometimes they will put drinking water out. Miniscule pro shop. The front (public) course is much shorter and sees a lot of play.

my friends and i have been ripped off at this course too many times to remember. the management doesn't care about the course. the place is always in bad shape. they slip foursomes in between your outings. they tell you they don't any big outings happening on a paticular day. then you show up and you have to play the public cow pasture because of the outing on the private side. the place is a joke.

(PRIVATE SIDE) Great, great course. It was in total disarray 2 years ago, and has come back beautifully! The Fairways, roughs, greens, and tee boxes are all in tip-top shape. One of the nicest, and most scenic courses in upstate NY.

Customer Service

This place is a joke I agree with last review no yardage markers plus sign say 170 yards its more like 125 yards on 1 hole and all holes are the same way way way off on the distances from the tee, its never mowed and the fairways even when mowed is just short grass no reall fairway and greens are tiny a total joke dont play there, you would be better of playing video golf then playing at this club!!!!!!

Customer Service

I live close to course and want it to be something special but managment refuses to make the slightest bit of effort to maintain. While the layout is ok there are few to no yardage markers, greens are terrible, temporary tees that are made of rock, sand traps without sand....you get the idea. Why does one own a golf course if they hate the game. At $22 it is way overpriced. Play somewhere else.

Customer Service

Total disorganization. No starter, no nothing.
