Shoots in the 80s

I grew up playing this course when it was the old "Cloverleaf" Golf Course. The old man who owned it would charge us $3.00 to play 9 holes, a $1.00 to rent clubs and if we'd climb to the bottom of the gorge and gather balls for him to sell he'd give us a bottle of coke. I used to go with my grandfather there and pull his cart after he lost his leg. Then the course was sold, and what these people have done to the course is nothing short of miraculous! It's on the lower end of "OK" but it's not a cow pasture anymore, it's a real golf course! They bought some adjoining land of grapes, ripped them out and added another 9 holes! When I moved to Utah the back 9 was almost playable as a course. When I last visited it was almost decent, that was 4 years ago. Is the course GREAT? No it isn't, but it's a fair course that has a rich history with me anyway, and a couple challenging holes. Hole 8 is a par 5 which I have scored my only Eagle on! It's over 500 yards! A few nice holes, and a nice dog leg left double creek crossing 4 hole if I recall, and I nice close out 9 hole over a wicked gorge! Don't remember much about the back 9, but the first 2 holes are nice, lots of history and memories for me there! As far as "Hicks", A lot of "Small Town" people don't quite understand City Boy Etiquette of Golf, be patient and explain it to them, they'll apologize and get out of the way.

Customer Service

Always have had nice memories of the club, my father's hole in one on the 9th hole when I punctured my toe nail with his golf shoes hugging him and jumping up and down in celebration! The kind owners working the course and their friendly attitudes. I always enjoyed myself there.

Played 10/12/08. As an avid golfer, I've played many courses. This one is by far the worst yet. I gave this course 1 star, only because they gave me a fast golf cart. If it wasn't for that, it would've been no stars. Let me try to explain in a way that the drunk, redneck hill-billies whom i shared the course with can understand. eR-ummm-DUUUH. Y'all Got Any of thaT TheRe BeEr? The website calls no dress code. i.e. Collared Shirts! TANK TOPS OK!! NO ETIQUETTE! i.e. yelling "FORE!!" at some point before their ball hits the cart I'm sitting in. Wandering around my fairway looking for your ball for 5 minutes while i'm trying to tee off. Cutting ahead of my group because you got passed on the tenth tee while sitting in the so-called "club house", more like wood shed, drinking beer. I guess it's hard to know what etiquette is when you're 3 sheets to the wind. Also, the price for this time of year was outrageous and for the condition of the course. I didn't realize i was going to pay $75 (18 holes and cart) to play on cow manuer in mid-October. I DO NOT recommend this course EVER. Pa Kettle in the "club house" (WOOD SHED) should be embarrased for price gouging and thinking he has a ligitimate golf course. Save your money and go elsewhere. There are better choices for your buck.

Customer Service

If you consider waiting 20 minutes for a bottle of water good customer service then it's useless to explain why Pa Kettle took so long.
