Shoots in the 80s

Recently played Douglaston. Was very surprised to see a fully renovated course when I arrived. All the tee boxes have been redone and brand new bunkers are beautiful. The course was in excellent condition for a public course. Fairways were lush and the greens were excellent. My favorite hole is the 18th which is a beautiful par 5 finishing hole. When my 20 foot birdie putt went in it was even better lol. The fifth hole is also a great par 3 with an elevated green over water. Two big bunkers surround the green. I found one of them and made a double. Great hole. The pro shop has also been renovated with a nice grill room. It was very nice to sit down and have a hamburger and beer after a pleasurable round of golf. If you live in NYC you should definitely give it a shot. I reccomend you make a reservation to assure you dont have to wait I believe the pro shop number is 718-224-6566. Hit em straight and enjoy!!!!!!

Shoots in the 90s

Douglaston has come a long way. What used to be fairways filled with gravel and rocks is now decently kept grass. New bunkers and well kept greens are also found at almost every hole. Although a short course, it does have water come into play on 4 holes and some Par 4's and 5's will force blind tee shots, due to the massive hills.

Shoots in the 90s

Short & hilly best descibes Douglaston. I did not care for the layout due to too many "blind" shots. One tee box is actually astro turf! Course was otherwise in pretty good shape for a NYC public. Shot my best round ever there (84), but haven't returned since. Enough said

Shoot in the 90s

The greens are well maintained, but the rest of the course, not too great. The course is I think a PAR 69 under 5000 yards, but VERY, I mean VERY hilly! I've never been so tired in my life walking the course.

Shoot in the 90s

A enjoyable course for beginner to intermediate golfer. It's a short course, due to a few extra Par 3 holes. Nevertheless, it provides interesting course strategy due to the location of the greens - most tee shots are hit from a "blind spot", the pins are not visible from the tee box due to presence of hills. Each hole is memorable due to its unique design.

Shoot in the 80s

This course is good for beginers to intermediate golfers. Don't waste your time getting to the course if your the tipe who likes to rip it and grip it! Extremely short! Also play tends to be on the slow side. On the plus side it is kept in good playing condition (box to greens) and forces course management.

Shoot in the 90s

This is a very well maintained course. Its relatively short. There are 7 par 3s. I would said its one of my favorites, only because I broke my first 100 here, 4 months later, I broke 90. This is more hilly than Kissena. Great for intermediate players. There are some holes, where your second shot will be a blind shot. But very enjoyable.
