What a S#!T hole. I thought that after the course was bought out that there would be some improvements. Hell no. While the greens were decent the rest of the course and service sucked. The old fart of a starter is brain dead and can not organize foursomes to the right 9's (3 nine hole courses). The fairways are still cut way too high. They're still doing construction and the noise makes it hard to enjoy the round and not the mention the mounds of dirt everywhere. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Customer Service

Horrible. No rangers and the starter is a complete dumbass.

Model Reviewed: Oak & Spruce

Here's the quick of it.....

Narrow fairways - bring extra balls if you slice.

Greens not well maintained - lots of crab grass and no one seems to care about fixing the ball marks.

Fairways are very hard in spots

Hi-cut rough

Awkward to find your way from one hole to the next. Not enough directional signs

Awkward to go from one 9 hole course to the next if you're playing 18.

Not worth the $70.00

No credit cards/debit cards for green fees. Cash only.

Sand traps are more like gravel traps.

Easy to get a tee-time when all other places are booked. I would use it as a last resort if you REALLY have the need to play.

Customer service is fine.

Middle Island is a solid course to play especially if you don't have a tee time, you can usually count on getting out within a 1/2 hour walking-in. The course has no water but the deep rough certainly makes up for it. I hope you've been practicing your 7-iron punch shot, because you're gonna find yourself in the woods on more that one occasion. I have yet to play it this year, but i feel this is one of the better "Bang For Your Buck" courses in the area.

3 nines. None fit each other properly so the outward to inward is an awkward transition. The greens are ... well.. not greens but uncut, wet sponges. Why play if you can't score. Might as well just hit the range for a few hours of practice. Can easily cathc fliers out of the fairways as the boxes and "short stuff" 'aint short!

Play Swan or Spring Lake.

This course has three 9 holes that challange all levels of golfers. The Oak has many treelined fairways and if you leave the short stuff you could be hacking your way out for some big numbers. Awesome finishing par 5.The Dogwood is tree city, long and tight. Par 5 #8 is super long and very tight. #9 dogleg right if you make the corner plays a super right to left sloping green and itches for a bird. The Spruce is the longest but very flat, not as many trees. Great place to lose or find balls because of the high rough.

Customer Service

Very friendly people, compassionate starters.
