Good course layout, but the conditions were that of a $20 muni. Played in late August after 4 days of rain, but the muni that I normally play was in 10 times better shape. It was disappointing and I don't plan on going back, especially for that price

I plyed Mansion Ridge about 2 weeks ago and was pretty dissapointed. The layout is nice and some of the holes are intresting. The par 5's require precise shot management if you want any chance of making birdie or par. The greens were terrible. Very bumpy and very slow. The practice green is a good indicator of the greens you will be putting on but is in much better condition. You really have to pound the ball to get it to the hole.

Customer Service

Customer service was fine.

I thought the layout was typical Nicklaus design... Marsh, Tee shot carry's, great landscaping, etc. etc... A few blind shots off the Tee boxes, (but a yardage book is available from the pro shop. I had a sky caddie so figuring out distance wasn't a problem for me. Greens rolled very true, but not as fast as I thought they would have been. The par 5's seem to be all risk/reward type situations... PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT!!! If you place the ball you can score well. My first time playing the course, I shot a 76. I play to a 2 Handicap. I would def. play again!

Customer Service

Nice people working in the pro-shop. The ranger was very friendly.

We had a 10am tee time on Memorial Day wknd 2004 and we found the fairway littered and the greens slow & bumpy. MR is a challenging mountain layout with many blind shots. The course plays especially difficult as: 1. they do not offer a course guide or hole map at the tee-box; and 2. the yardage markers sometime are hard to find. (Note that we did not have an experienced player in our 4-some.)

Customer Service

Bad - they did not know that I pre-paid $85 for discounted tee-times and tried to charge me for regular $140+ greens fee. Good - the manager took care of that and gave me a return play coupon for 1 missing player. They also paired us up to make a 4 some.

Interesting layout. Beware of hazards on the fairways. You may need to lay up more than once.. or twice... on par 5 with the hazards. I lost two of my proV's in the hazards.. killed my score. The greens are nice.. rolls nicely. Back nine was more fun than front.

Nice routing - uphill holes on back nine like Poconos Golf. Greens roll fair but mediocre condition. Autumn views must be stunning.

great conditions. Great role on the greens. Course fits any skill level with its 5 tee areas. Challenging, but pleasant especially the back nine, and the last challenging hole

Customer Service

Great layout and design. Eases you in with 5 links style open holes, the fun starts on 6. Great back nine and finishing hole. Greens very puttable, no ridiculous undulations for a mountain course.

Customer Service

Courteous and attentive staff

Played this course in early August and was mightily dissappointed. The greens were pock marked with more ball marks than a Jersey municipal course. Granted this is the fault of negligent players, I was not expecting this after having paid 130 bucks.

Customer Service

Nothing special.

Very pleasantly surprised by this accessible course; only about 1hr:15 from lower Fairfield County. The course was very challenging, especially the way I hit (mis-hit?) the ball! The course was well-maintained. My playing partners and I had the feeling that on one recent Thursday PM, they might have overbooked. We didn't tee off until about 20 minutes past our stated tee time. Compounding this was the fact there was not a ranger in sight for the full 4:45 that it took to complete the round. But I'm quibbling.

One minor complaint: I could've sworn that a golfer in an adjoining fairway hit my STRATA. I guess I shouldn't have been in his fairway in the first place!
