Shoot in the 80s

I had a real surprise playing this hidden gem. First of all, it was very simple getting a t-time even though I was looking for a late morning Sunday start. For the entire game there was no one in front of us and it was only from the 12th on that we had anyone (a threesome) following us. The course itself is very hilly with quite a bit of distance between most greens and tees - walking would only be suitable for marathoners. Most of the course has wide, rolling fairways and while there is quite a bit of water, it is only on the 18th that water could really get in the way of a good score. The greens were in as good a shape as any public course I have ever played at, and much faster than I am used to with a fair amount of terrain. The course is a little unusual in its yardage and pars as it is 5066 from the reds and 6600 from the whites with nothing in between. Par is 73 from the whites, and a very unusual 75 from the reds. Back nine has quite a few blind holes. A real surprise for a public golf course was the drink cart cruising around with refreshments.
