DESCRIPTION

Shenendoah offers 18 holes of PGA-level golf in a spectacular natural setting. The course layout was built and is maintained to comply with stringent Audubon International standards for environmental protection and preservation. Designer Rick Smith used the natural landscape to create wooded parkland holes, open pastures that capture the links feel, and beautifully simple low country-style holes. Designed, constructed and maintained to tour standards, Shenendoah offers conditions normally reserved for tour professionals.

This is as nice a course as I've ever played! The $75 greens fee may seem a bit steep for the area but it is worth it to play this exceptional course. GPS carts, star treatment and as close to a PGA type course as one is likely to see. The whites played about 6300 yards and the fairways are very user friendly, wide enough to wayward shots without losing too many balls. Each tee box has a plaque which describes the topography, flora and/or area history. Obviously, the course is manicured perfectly, tee boxes as nice as the greens. There is some water, and some marshland, but it doesn't really threaten your game unless it is an extremenly wayward shot. Risk/reward 4th hole is fun, play for the fairway or go for broke and try to hit over the wetland on 300 yard par 4. Stunning 17th is a long par 3. Golf at a quality course like this is truly a great day!
