Greens are fun and challenging, and the good mixture of shots needed to master the course on any one day makes you think. Hole number 16 is the signature par 5 in my opinion, requiring a long and straight right to left draw on the drive for a right hander to have any chance to go for the green in 2 (Unless you slice a long one into the #17 fairway and are daring enought to go over full grown loblollies and a sand trap and land soft enough not to go in the close woods). Also have a par 3 that you must carry about 160 to clear water, with out of bounds very close on your left side.

The fairways are in bad shape. Especially number #17. Also, the cart paths really need to be redone. The older greens, although fun when in pristine shape, need more than normal care, and therefore they aerate more than normal, so call ahead to ask about the green conditions. Currently, the clubhouse is undergoing substantial renovations that should be completed mid summer 2006.

The course is still has its original greens from the late 1960's, so they are starting to show signs of age, but still roll very well on most days. A good mixture of shots is needed to peruse the course effectively, and the big trees throughout the course can definately play havoc on your ball. Only a couple of sand traps are in scary positions, but slippery sloped greens make it crucial to play from the correct side of the pin. The course is fun and affordable.
