Wow! Absolutely wonderful. This course is beautiful, and challenging. No matter where you are, you see the mountains all around with some truly wonderful homes butting up against the greens and fairways. The greens were in perfect condition, and the setting is just wonderful. As for the course; they say it's a true shooters course, and a course record 67 (from the forward tees) will testify to it. The scorecard say's the course is short, but by the time I finished, I was tired. Quite simply, there are alot challenging shots, and finding the right club was tough. needless to say, the course record is still intact, although if I had the $$$ to buy a home here, I have no doubt that I could break it!

Wow; a true shooters course in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bald Mountain Golf Course will test anyone - it certainly did me! The course is not too long, so it is really playable for everyone, but if you can't hit accurately, you will not score well. Not that this is any different from other courses, but they say, after 46 years, the course record is a 67 and that is from the forward tees. There are several super par 3's, but you better stick the green, otherwise you've lost a ball. The par 5's are tough enough for anyone - tight fairways all around. Of course; looking at the towering mountains above you and playing for $38.00 in 70 degree summer weather just doesn't get any better. I'd buy a home here if I could (then, maybe I'd beat that 67). Also - what drought? These greens are the best I've ever seen!
