Played Maples course on October 9, liked the layout, and the course was in ok condition, but not great. The biggest problem was slow play. It took us 5 hours and 40 minutes to finish 18 holes. the ranger knew of the problem but did nothing to correct it.

played palmer course and it was ok. not as good as other pinehurst area courses but they charge for it

Since there's not many players after 10:00 on weekends, easy to walk on.

Management is non existent. Staff is non existent.

I've played both courses at Woodlake and found the Maples course to be the more difficult of the two. Both were in fair shape, cart paths need major work, whoever is behind the counter needs to find a job elsewhere, what an unpersonable guy and that was the extent of the staff. No Starters (either course) no ranger to marshall slow players, and since both courses do not return to the clubhouse, they use a gas station back door on 7 of the Palmer,(OK) and a closed up halfway house on the Maples. What's up with that?

There really is nothing else to say. If you're looking for a place to play and everyone else in the area is booked, you can probably get on here. Go get the internet coupon from their site (Google search) and just play!

Palmer course not suited for high handicap player. Very difficult. Course/greens were in poor conditon (4/02).
