Well-maintained, awesome greens, well-designed and challenging course. Ubelievably low greens fees ($18 on weekdays!!!)

Definitely a ball eater. There's plenty of water, tall grass, and woods for you to lose balls in. Several holes have shots scary enough that you can't help but put your ball right in the water/swamp/forest. The course has a sense of humor about it, though... there's a huge barrel in the clubhouse with a sign that says "Previously enjoyed balls."

If you've had a few good rounds lately and feel like your game is really coming around, take a ride to Hopedale and play Castle Shannon. This course will rip your heart out. The design is fantastic; the architects obviously spent a lot of time on the layout to make each hole challenging but very rewarding when played well. The fairways are above average, but the greens are where the course really shines. Fast and true... around the tri-state area, the rule of thumb is to just putt it straight unless you're 200% sure it breaks. A few holes (The Gauntlet and Bunker Hill) have to be seen to believe... they're true golf holes. Yardage from the blues is 6900 yards... good luck.

Great golf course! They had plenty of land so course is well spread out. No two holes are alike & they are challenging.Great price for a quality course.
