Shoots in the 90s

Springbrook is one of my favorite park district courses, a challenging, mature, tree lined layout with plenty of sand and water, and enough variety in the holes to keep the interest level high. The par 3's are the highlights: #4 requires a lengthy tee shot over water to a severely sloped (back to front) green, and #'s 7 & 13 are both downhill to greens heavily guarded by bunkers (good visuals!).

Besides the par 3's, #11 is a par 5 with water in play on every shot, and #14 is a long par 4 with water protecting both sides of the fairway. And #18 is a solid finisher, a par 4 dog leg left to an elevated green. The only hole that may require a bit of local knowledge is #10, a dog leg right with water protecting the dog leg. If you don't hit your tee shot far enough to the left, you'll be blocked out by some very large trees on your approach. Otherwise, the course is very fair, in good condition, and overall a lot of fun to play.

Customer Service

Very friendly staff, nice pro shop and clubhouse (but nothing special).

Shoot in the 90s

This course is longer than most municipal courses. Always in very good condition. Wide open play is ok here! Good course for long and wild hitters. Lots of landing room. Greens are challenging. Not fast or hard to read but with dips and turns. Only bad thing is that the rangers are always on the prowl for slow play. That is good and bad. No time to look for lost ball and they hound you if you are playing with someone who is learning the game. Not the place to play with a beginner. A great course overall though.

Customer Service

Tee times are very difficult in good weather on the Thur-Sun.

Great clubhouse turn at #9. Good food and reasonably priced.
