Shoots in the 70s

The course is always great..I have played it over 20 times. However, I think I am done playing it. The greens are not as fast as they used to be. Although there are less people playing it now, the pace of play has slowed down. The course is nice-but over priced, the food is OK, and the staff are average. I would rather spend my money on Black Diamond.

This course is as nice as I have played. Starts with great customer service, a huge clubhouse and a beautiful course layout. I have played probably 100+ courses throughout Ohio, Florida (TPC's), South Carolina, Arizona (Troon) and California and this one was probably the nicest. Generous from the tee box with wide fairways but extremely difficult on the undulating greens. Almost every hole is exclusive from other holes (meaning you cannot see the other holes while playing the hole you are on). They stagger the tee times enough so you seem to be on the course by yourself. Throw in serious elevation changes, woods, lakes, creeks and you have a truly beautiful location. Bring your camera if playing in the fall. Fun and challenging! An hour and 45 minute drive for me is worth it for me. I think I will play this as my last round of the year...every year.

Really pretty place. Course was in immaculate condition. Staff were wonderful. Rangers were helpful and concerned. But the track didn't impress me. No WOW factor. Lots of holes where a good drive to the middle of the fairway ends up in a penal side hill lie. Several holes were so tight on the approach shots that it wasn't even worth going for it...just lay up. Fun golf but not worth $125, even with the lovely towel included. I'll play it once but not twice. Shot a 95 even with the layups and didn't loose a ball. For this kind of $, I expect to get my tail kicked the first time around.

Customer Service

Wonderful.

A very enjoyable round of golf. Play was alittle slow, especially at tee #4, but if you eliminate the 13 minutes we waited on that tee we finished in 4 hours and 25 minutes. Greens wre fast though a little marked up. I am still amazed that someone would pay $115.00 for a round of golf and NOT fix their ball marks. But there were realyyy not too many ball marks on the greens. It was NOT cart path only when we played and it would have been nice to have a seed mix in the carts for the divots. This course is beautiful--traps with consistently raked sand, greens rolled fast and true, relatively wide landing areas, precision rewarded around the greens and shots to the greens must be accurate or you will pay the price. The clubhouse is impressive. Food in the grill room/bar was excellent as was the service. I don't have a bad thing to say about this course!

Shoot in the 90s

This is a difficult course and it kicked my butt (I don't have an established handicap, but usually shoot around 90). I've played some pretty good courses in Ohio & Colorado (Arrowhead, Muirfield among others) and in my mind this track was waaayy badder. Definitely designed with LPGA and PGA tournaments in mind. However, the course condition, facilities and Longaberger people are just so darn nice I can't wait to go back for more abuse! (I don't know if this is typical but it took a reservation made 6-months in advance to get back on).

Plus I got a nice Longaberger towel to cry into! I understand these are quite collectible. A cart girl allowed that a golfer told her even the Longaberger-logoed water bottles are being collected - though she may have been pulling my chain.

Even now, this maybe Ohio's greatest "destination" golf facility.

Customer Service

We felt very welcome - the starter was quite funny, in a dry kind of way - I felt like a lost soul as he described some of the challenges we would face - he obviously relished his role as a kind of Charon, ferrying the doomed across the river Styx!

Shoot in the 80s

I played this course in October 2000, shortly after a fairly hard rain. The course was in great shape and we had no problem from the rain. Our group generally hit drives 235-255 and we had all the course we needed from the middle tees. The greens rolled very nicely and the overall experience was excellent. This was well worth the $100 to play. Our group consisted of 7-12 handicaps and everyone would go back and play. The limited tee times we encountered made us feel that we had the course to ourselves.

felt very welcome
