This is not a bad course for the price. It has 27 holes - 18 are down near the river and the other 9 are up at the top of the hill. The course is appropriately named because it appears to have been carved out of a hill and it is very much an up and down course. The front nine are walkable, but the back nine almost requires a cart (unless you carry your clubs and are part mountain goat). There is a lot of challenge and you need to have a fairly accurate game. It is very easy to end up a trouble, or another fairway. The greens are typically rather hard and difficult to hit onto. No two greens putt the same (speed), so that adds another challenge. The course is fairly well maintained, but the tees are cut entirely too high. I have also found them to be very hard and beaten up.

The top 9 is a flat simple (but tight) course that would be good for beginners. I have not played that portion, so I cannot comment on it's play.

This course has no restaurant, however they do have good hot dogs on the weekend.
