The course is in great shape compared to OKC area courses. Front nine is wide open and the back nine runs through a canyon and is tough. Greens were fast and in good shape.

Customer Service

Friendly.

This course is like the book, "Tale of Two Cities". The front nine is fairly open, not too distinctive and runs by the prison in Hinton. The back nine is a totally different story, with scenic views, hardly ever a flat lie and different, distinctive holes. Course is usually in good shape; other than tournaments being booked fairly often, normal play is not too over crowded.

Customer Service

Sporadic, is how I would describe it. Sometimes very good and friendly; sometimes like they were doing you a favor to take your money.

For Oklahoma, this is a great public course. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone. Great greens and the back nine has some challenging holes.

Customer Service

Okay, but not great, but that's no different than any other golf course in Oklahoma

This course in strange! I played it in the summer and it was in great condition. The fairways were pretty lush and the greens were as slick as glass. the front nine is open with water playing on some holes. If the wind is playing from the south be ready for a long day. If it from the north you may think its the shortest course ever. But the back nine is a different story. Just looking at #10 you know its going to be rough. The back nine is filled with canyons and rolling terrain. On #15 you have to bust a drive over a canyon then you have to crank another shot over a bunker in the middle of the fairway. The hole slopes from right to left so if you land left your in the canyon. This back nine can be brutal. My friends and I all agreed that Chickasaw Pointe was over-rated and that this was a harder course.

Apparently the heat and humidity of Houston have gotten to Louis, Louis or maybe it's just his Texas attitude (for all I know could be a Longhorn fan and still be smarting from 63-14 OU over Texas). I played this course for the first time June 23, 2001 and liked it alot.

Yes, the front is a bit open and non-descript, but that is more than made up for by the great shape the course is in. After you make the turn, things change - this is a tough, fun 9 holes. Local course knowledge is a big plus - I would definately play it different the second time around. (Hopefully, my partner Big Bob would too - he fell apart when the wind came sweeping down from the prison that is adjacent to the course). When the wind blows this plays much longer than the yardage indicates. In short, the first review submitted was closer to the point than the Texan's.

Customer Service

Very nice, courteous - didn't run into the prison lady.

After reading the review of the guy that played on 06/10 ("..turd lady" guy), I was pretty excited to play this course and to see the scenic back nine. It didn't take me too many holes to figure out that the guy needs to play more golf courses.

For the most part there are few trees and the layout of the course is confusing....and sometimes dangerous as some tees were set perfectly for a sliced/pushed approach shot to come flying at you(ie teeing off of 11 better watch out for people approaching on 13..11 tee is dead even with 13th green and 13 fairway is set up for a sliced approach).

I played with a beginner, a 10-handicap and I am a four. We all agreed that the course layout did not make sense and appeared that some holes were just plopped down onto a side-hill.

Recommendation:
Play this course early in golf-playing days because after you have played some decent courses, you won't want to play this course again.

Customer Service

I didn't make the tee time. People in the prop shop were nice enough.

Made the turn and got a lovely hotdog heated up in the microwave. Wanted a coke but had a lovely choice of Diet Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, or Diet Pepsi with ice.

We rolled in on a Saturday around 10 am. Not crowded at all. The first thing that strikes you is the clubhouse....out atop a hill in the middle of nowhere rises this awesome building. I played on a Saturday with a large group and was amazed at how few people were there mid-morning. That will change as the word gets out.

The course was in excellent shape. The fairways are nice and tight. Greens are slicker than snot! Very Fast - as nice as I have ever played on! Best condition of any public course I have ever been on....and better than most private ones, too! Front 9 is relatively flat...water in play on a few holes but watch out for the "native grass". Must be some EPA protected rattlesnake habitat...cause if your ball goes in there, dude, just drop one and keep on playin'! The only thing you will be coming out with is a snake bite or chiggers! Front 9 is fun and will present challenges for all handicaps. The back 9 is as fun a course as I have ever played. Crazy slope/sidehill fairways and elevated tees! The only thing that reminds you of being in Oklahoma is the red dirt/mud water in the ponds. Number 10 and 15 are my 2 favorite holes of all time. #10 is the fairway you see when you pull up to the clubhouse....it looks alot easier from the bottom! When you are on the tee box...wow!
#15 takes pretty good knock off a tee box which is situated on finger jutting out over a river/canyon...blind dogleg left into a slightly elevated green. If you are playing from the tips...you better be legit or will get lit up on the back! Can't wait to get back! Best value in Oklahoma - $30 green fee w/cart! Green fee good all day!
Sugar Creek Canyon is the bomb, baby!

Customer Service

Very nice folks....I think the Pro Shop staff gets a kick out of seeing folks come in from out of town all bug-eyed when they see the course/facility. Snack bar lady is a turd.
