Shoots in the 70s

I enjoy these 2 courses more than any other pub or semi-private courses in Portland. The South course is a little easier for my game, long, wide-open fairways. Sand only comes into play if you get sloppy. Greens are generally readable, though get early summer fungus hampering integrity. The North course has shorter, narrower fairways with more difficult recoveries. Requires greater accuracy, greens are more consistant year round but fairways slow considerably in the winter.

Customer Service

Excellent. Marshals are attentive and provide helpful assistance. Course personal are very aware of the golfer and work hard not to interrupt. Most take advantage of their free golf-play benefit, so ask them for shot assistance, you'll improve and enjoy your game all the more.

Though not a member of the private club I had the pleasure of lunch on the private club. Service was very good and the atmosphere congenial. Had the unexpected opportunity to play with the owner one late afternoon. Not the greatest golfer but had a good sense of humor, never abused his position or expected special treatment, though his playing partner was a little reserved, no pun intended.

Very nice, well maintained course. It's pretty straight forward, with some rolling fairways, and the typical sand/water holes. California-esque rough on edges. Not too many trees, except on one side on couple of holes. A bit pricey, due to reputation and club is only partially open to public. Balls bounced/rolled in the rain.

Customer Service

Generally very good. But had a bad experience with a marshall. He came complaining to our group about too slow of a pace of play, but he had bad data, and was talking to the wrong group. Didn't appreciate that he didn't check with us when we started (he assumed we were a group that started 45 min before we actually did). Our pace was more than acceptable, and kind of ruined our mood when this happened. The guy didn't even come out and apologize when he realized he was wrong. He just kind of left... but he was nicer after he found out he was wrong.

Good pro shop. Use the Tee Time specials to save some money... lots of them available on internet.

Great golf course for the all around player. Great clubhouse. Fought course home to the Fred Meyer Clallenge and the 2003 Jeld Wen
