I played in early november. No snow or frost yet. The course was fairly empty. I had never played the course before, which presented a real problem. The course layout is all about gimmicks. There isn't a straight hole on the course. Without local knowledge of yardages to the corners of doglegs, club selection off the tee is a total crapshoot. I didnt see yardage books available but i could be wrong.

The 16th and signature hole was beautiful and I found the train car interesting.

On to the positives. The course was in fantastic condition for november. The greens were rolling true, fast, but fair. They were very soft so I was consistently spinning shots much farther than I wanted to. The fairways were in excellent condition as well.

In summary, the course is set up for the resort type golfer who just enjoys the beauty and experience (which this course has). However, it isnt the type of course to measure your golfing ability. For a first time player without a yardage book, you will lose two strokes a side from what your normal good score would be.

Nice course, customer service is worse than non-existent, it's downright scary!

Customer Service

In a word, HORRIBLE !! From the owner (Stephanie ?) on down, the staff at Lost Tracks has no clue on how to treat customers. In 40+ years of golf, I have never seen or experienced anything this poor. They are pompous, condescending, and completely lacking any ability to properly serve the public. My advice: STAY AWAY, other great options for golf exist in Central Oregon. Nobody should tolerate rude customer service, not at the golf course for certain.

Bit of a disappointment here. Sixty bucks is a little high for walking in Oregon. Played as a single, pro shop was a little aloof. Got to the first T and guess what; no hole diagram on the T sign, not on the score card either! Where to go? Cussed this all around the front nine, went into pro shop to complain and there were yardage books available, too bad they did not say something as it was obvious it was my first time there. Asking where the first T was might have been a clue. Course was nice and geens were good. As a 35 dollar course it would have been great. At 6O I will pass next time. It just was not that good. Aspen Lakes or Quail Run are better choice.

Shoots in the 80s

I booked the earliest tee time listed (6:00 am) using the course's online booking system. Showed up at 5:40 am. The pro shop person didn't show until 6:35 am! When asked about online booking, she said "I thought we blocked that thing." We decided to play the course later in the week and I booked what I was told was the 1st tee time of the day. Showed up at 6:15 for a 6:32 tee time. A five-some was already on the first tee. We bolted for the tee (3 in our group) and they graciously let us play through. We soon discovered though that the course wasn't ready for play. Many of the flags were missing and the mowers left thatch piles on seven of the greens. We had to hit several shots onto greens while the mowers were still mowing as they wouldn't turn off the equipment even though we got their attention. During the round I complained to the marshall (who didn't seem to do anything about the situation) and after the round I complained to the pro shop about not informing us that the course wasn't ready for play. The response, "Oh well, sounds like you've had bad luck."

Customer Service

Terrible. Don't offer online booking if you don't actually use the system.

Awesome course. This course has great risk reward and quite a creative layout. It winds through some very beautiful country and some very nice homes. The 5's played anywhere from about 450 to 530 and I reached on all but one. Course was well maintained and a great value.

Customer Service

Didn't see the beer cart once but other then that service was good.

A gimmicky course, generally dissappointing. Played during the summer. Tees, fairways and greens were in fair to good shape. Rough (if it could be called that) is unbearable --- many lava rock areas where finding a slightly stray ball is next to impossible.

Great golf course. The island par three (with a train car for a bridge) is one of the funnest holes I've played, and the rest of the course isn't far behind. It's in tip-top shape and offers a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are pretty tough, the fairways generous and par fives are great holes.

Customer Service

The staff, especially marshalls are very professional.
