I play this course regularly as it is about five minutes from my house. It is a decent course, but I don't feel it is as amazing as reviews have said. The front nine is relativly simple, with a few doglegs and two long par 3's. The back nine is much tougher, with both par 3's playing entirely over water. Hole 13 can be the toughest on the course, a par 5 with a deep gully about 200 out and the first fairway playing above you. Overall I enjoy playing the course, but many newbies moving at a slow pace and an equal amount of players riding your butt can make the day frustrating.

Customer Service

The guys in the pro shop are very nice, and once you get to know the starter and marshall you never have any worries. Overall everyone is very pleasant.

This course has a great traditional layout with a little of everything. I live very close to the course and have the chance to play it often but don't due to the fact that they send a foursome off of the tee every 2 minutes. The starter is often pushing you off of the first tee and I've even heard from them:"We have alot of people to tee off still, why don't you tee from the 150 marker." I guess I'd rather tee off from a course that would let me enjoy golf rather than cram it in.

Customer Service

Horrid. It felt like a corperation rather than a relaxing golf course. The starter has always been rude everytime I've ever played there.

Dual-tier driving range is nice, though the putting green could use more holes.

Eastmoreland is a very nice golf course with challenging narrow fairways, and well designed water hazards and sand traps. Contrary to what "pacificlnd" up there thinks, the course is located in one of Portland's nicests and most solid neighborhoods, which makes you feel as if you were at a private club. If you are in the portland area, you should check out Eastmoreland.

Customer Service

Good service at the proshop and restaurant.

The driving range has two floors so there is always space. I found it to be a very acceptable and comfortable range.

Eastmoreland is one of the best public golf courses I have ever played. Now, I live in California and commute to Portland to play in the Eastmoreland Bestball, and the Portland City Golf Championship. Eastmoreland offers all types of looks. Short holes, long holes, tight, water, OB, flat greens, sloopy greens. It was built in the early 1900s and usually is kept in good shape. The best time of the year to play to course is in the summer. If you play Eastmoreland around the time of the city tournament you will play one of the best public courses in the country.

Though this course may have been a great layout many years ago, I've only played it three times over the past 8 years and have found it to be a nice municipal course. It has a good "American style" layout, but the tees usually are pretty rough, and the greens iffy. The club house has bars on all the windows and doors, so that says something about the neighborhood, or at least the nightly visitors. For a city course, it's fine, and certainly for the low green fees. But don't expect it to be in the top 100 public courses in American, (it used to be listed in Golf Mag as that. Nowhere near that now.)

Customer Service

Acceptable.

Driving range is very out dated. Once again, sufficient for a city course with low fees, but don't go there expecting state of the art.

Great public course! Front 9 offers a little of everything from a long par 5 to a long, narrow par 3; most holes involve trees close to the fairway and some hills. Back 9 features water on many holes and a short but tough dog-leg par 5 with a big gully in the middle. Greens aren't real tough with a few exceptions. Very scenic, located in a classic and prestigious neighborhood, almost a country club feel. Clubhouse and driving range are both newer and very nice.
