This course was fantastic, the view was insane and it was peaceful. If your looking for a course with great atmosphere, beautiful greens and the best food around for the right price, this is it.

Customer Service

Mixed bag, here. Conditions are good for public golf, though price is a little high for the area (around 30 smackers). Design can be good, and it can be frustrating. Some of the holes are stupidly tight, rewarding good tee shots with blocked approaches. On a few occasions, holes that call for a cut to the green offer only a hook lie and vice versa. In fact, in these cases, the shot dictated by the lie will put the ball in trouble (i.e. heavy trouble left when the ball's above your feet), and trees prevent you from doing anything other than working the ball against the angle of the slope. Tough, and not really fair.

Customer Service

A bit gruff in the shop.

A fantastic golf course. THE TOUGHEST I have played. Nestled in the laurel highlands, the beauty is unparalleled. Champion Lakes must be played to be appreciated. From the blues this course is incredible. Plenty of water and sand. Love the course!

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. This course has a great reputation, but I was not impressed. The place is somewhat run down, and the course is not well taken care of. The vaunted trees need to be trimmed a bit, as they are really unfair on certain holes. When the course was built, they were probably much smaller, but now they've grown into the fairways too much in spots. On one hole, I had a dead-center-of-fairway shot to the green from 140yds, and couldn't shoot for the green because of a tree. Other holes had greens that were very bare, and other holes had large areas of hardpan or dirt that began just off of the green, within 15 ft of the pin! In other words, either dunk your shot, or you are screwed. The cart paths were like the Ho Chi Minh trail in many places, and a few of the teeboxes looked like they'd been used for a varsity football practice. The place was probably great in its day, and still has potential to be great again, but it is in dire need of some tender loving care. For the money they charge, you can do a lot better elsewhere.

One of the toughest if not "THE" toughest public courses in Western PA. Well maintained, tight farrows, small, fast greens, challenging rough. No breaks on the entire eighteen. Beutiful Laurel highlands. A must play.
