Shoot in the 80s

Short course that offers little challenge to the good players with the exception of the last two holes, but allows the average player to shake off mistakes and score well. A number of holes are driver, pitching wedge (and the bigger hitters can drive the green on the par 4 Hole #1). Fairly well maintained but dries out during the summer due to lack of sprinkler system. No sand bunkers on the course.

Shoot in the 80s

One of Western Pennsylvania's fine public golf courses. The course has a little of everything: a few holes with water, a few holes with OB, a few holes with sand, and a few holes that are narrow and tree-lined (although much of the course is "grip it and rip it").

Suncrest has the best three finishing holes of all of the local public courses. Number 16 is a long, challenging par 5, not reachable in two by anyone but the long hitters, with a tiny, two tiered green that can break your heart if you are on the wrong level. Number 17 is a 220+ yard par three into the wind that has a number of grass bunkers surrounding it. And, number 18 is a 420 yard, uphill, dogleg left, out-of-bounds on the right, undulating green monster, that can rip your heart out. (One day I came to 18 at 2 under par for the back nine and left 1 over par.) Anyone who can par the last three holes is definitely a "player."
