Shoots in the 80s

Definitely not a links course, but it is a great layout. Lots of elevation changes, trees, water, and large greens.....nothing like a true links, but forgive the name and enjoy the course's great variety. The par-3 third green has a 100ft high redrock wall backdrop and the par-3 twelth has a tee shot that is all carry over water. The par-5's include a birdie hole that measures only 461yds, one that stretches to 600yds with an elevated tee and water on both sides of the fairway, and a great finishing hole with the clubhouse sitting on top of another cliff high above the 18th green. I love the risk/reward that short par-4's like hole #8 offer. At roughly 300yds, you can hit anything from driver down to a 7-iron off the tee...the closer to the green you get, the longer the carry over the hazard and the narrower the fairway. The course conditions were quite good and I would recommend this course.

Customer Service

The grille on the patio is a good place for a burger or dog and the service was equally good.

Shoots in the 80s

This is an eclectic course and is far removed from what is called "links" in strictly British terms. There are some "pretty" holes, indeed No.7 is a magnificent effort, but much of the remainder are somewhat contrived, seeking out difficulty for the sake of it and not making best use of natural contours. I can't really see the sense in blasting huge portions of rock to create greens that use the man-made cliff face as a backdrop! Condition of the course is OK, although bunkers have shallow sand. Rough is good and consistently punishing. This may be a course that improves more with playing, but, at $80 it represents poor value for money and isn't a patch on Waverly Woods or Turf Valley a little further south in Maryland.

Shoot in the 80s

Well, a definate WORTH PLAYING in my book.

The layout is great, with several holes cut into the redrock terrain, the look changes from start to finish. A good mix of elevation, water, trees, sand, mounds, OB, everything.

The greens and fairways and rough are in excellent shape and very mature looking for a fairly new course. Limited play with tee time about every 12 minutes apart you don't have to press or feel pressed.

PLay it if you get the chance, its a keeper.
