Bella Vista - Golf courses, Gilbertsville, PA

DESCRIPTION

A really great public course offering 18 beautiful holes of golf along with a friendly staff and nice snack shop. Hole #14 is a 140yd Par 3 island green. Exactly like the Players Championship. 45minutes from Philly and worth the trip.

Usually in good condition for a public course. Pretty open but challenging enough for any level of player. Pricey for being in the middle of nowhere.

Putting green only (no chipping, no range).

The course layout was nice. The sand traps are terrible, very inconsistent, one trap you sink to your ankles and none in others. The greens are over watered and soft with ballmarks everywhere.

Customer Service

The proshop staff are not friendly, all they wanted to do was take your money. The bag drop attendant and starter were very friendly and helpful. The proshop staff should take a lesson from the,

I played this course on Labor Day, anticipating a crowd. I was right - there were three foursomes no a hole at many points through the course. I wasn't upset, but I was surprised that there was no course ranger ensuring a proper pace of play. While I don't shoot super low scores, I do play at the proper speed, and for the money I Was shocked that there was no ranger present. Also, the greens were in rough shape - the ball bounced all over the place. I'm going to attribute it to being later in the season. Overall, I wasn't impressed, and would recommend playing this course early in the year on a weekday when the course isn't crowded.

I got to play this course for the 1st time last week. This course is beautiful and I would have played twice as much to play.We teed off and the rain started on hole 5. we got to the turn and the staff gave us towels and everything we needed to dry off. I was 3 over at this point and wanted to play.I parred 10 and the rain just let loose. we decided to pack it in. I went home and the rain stopped. I called the course about 4 hours later and they let me come back and finsh(without paying extra) I am glad I did. I shot 76(par 70) and got to play the 140yd hole island green. The fairways are lush, the course plays fair and the rough is playable. They have a nice yardage book to buy for $2.50 and lays the course out perfectly. I liked the course enough , I had to add it to the list . If you are in the area, make sure to stop and play.

Customer Service
