Shoots in the 80s

woodland hills c.c. is a test of golf. classic golden era architecture, diabolically fast and sloped greens combine for a true tast.

Shoots in the 80s

This course is very picturesque, lots of trees, very hilly and tougher than the 126 slope on the scorecard. The fairways are tight and most of them slope to one direction, effectively making them tighter. If you miss the fairway, you've generally punished yourself by one shot. Three of the five par-3s are very tough. The tougher three each play around 200 yards and there's not much room for error. The greens were being aerated when I played, but they seem quite severe and fast. The course is a little quirky in that there are two consecutive par-5s and two consecutive par-3s. Also, you kind of have to leave the main grounds to get to those two consecutive par-3s. Overall, however, it's an interesting a challenging course. Definitely don't need driver on every driving hole and you need to keep the ball straight. Two of the three par-5s are definitely reachable, but they're all good holes. There really wasn't a "bad" hole on the course. There were a couple of blindish shots, but they were on shorter/easier holes. Clubhouse is nice and with only 360 members, there aren't many people playing at any given time. It's a tough course to play the first time (I shot 93), but I feel that if I were a member or played regularly, that I'd probably shoot in the low 80s regularly and break 80 every now and then.

Customer Service

Excellent - it's a private country club after all.
