Wyncote is a great course. And it's really not too expensive if you opt for the after 2pm time on the weekend ($65, peak $85). The facilities are beautiful and the staff is very friendly.
The course plays tough but fair. Several of the fairways and greens are elevated, magnifying any mistakes. Being a links style course, it's obviously very open, but beware of the heather. It comes into play far too often. And good luck finding your ball if you are lucky enough to hit in there. And with it being open, you better go on a calm day. If it's calm at your house, expect there to be a good stiff breese at the course.
The greens were in great shape, but fast. So it's important to have a great sense of feel for the greens when putting.
All in all, a great course that plays fair, but tough. If you are a player that sprays the ball left and right, not the course for you (you'll run out of balls). But if you are a "fairly" staright hitter, you will find the course fun and challenging.

This is quite a great course. The architect manages to put a scottish style golf couse in the middle of Pennsylvania. It features four par fives, of which the 18th is the most challenging. Holes numbered 1 and 9 share a double green which is unique in the states. While no wholes stick out in your mind, the course is comprised of 18 solid holes. The conditions are excellent. It features tees for all skill levels. Each caters accurately to the level of play stated. It has been the host of the Excelon Invitational twice where players such as Sergio Garcia, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk, David Love III, Nick Price, Lee Jansen, and Carlos Franco have competed in a skins formated match. Playing from the black tees each player faced their share of troubles where Sergio shot over par and no one, exept for Justin Leonard posted a score more than two under. It is a great course and I urge you to play it. It is ranked in the top thirty in PA among greats like Merion and Aronomink. It will move up in the rankings as it grows older. The course was opened in 1993.

Customer Service
