Applewood is my local course, but it's pretty rag tag. This year it's getting better, they really are trying. It's tough to keep a golf course fantastic with the drought going on. The guys in the pro shop are your typical rich-kids with attitude problems, but that's no biggie. Lot's of cute girls working the snack counter and the driving range.

OK once they start to recognize you

Getting worse all the time! The water restrictions and the drought have made this course virtually unplayable. I remember the end of last year and thought the course was in its usual shape, which is pretty rough anyway. I think that American Golf has improved Applewood somewhat but still struggles to keep up. I have played Applewood probably 300 times and it has always been just OK, basic golf.

Customer Service

The instruction staff is fantastic, they are some of the best pros I've ever found. The customer service in the pro shop depends on the person, some are nice, some are inherent jerks. Just hope you ha

Driving range is sufficient, a little small but the space inbetween golfers is nice. It's mats only but that's OK right now

Applewood this year is a dry out golf course. The fairways are perity dry. the rough is like hitting out of a bunker. They also have some good water hazerdes and some good size trees that hang over on to the fairway.Another thing is that the first hole has part of the driving range in it if you hit it to the right. They need to keep it more green. You can esaly walk the hole course Also is real easy to get a tee time.

Well this course is nice for kids in the area because they only have to pay 10 bucks to play. The course condition howerever is quite terrible. The fairways are like the rough on many nicer courses. You''re lucky on the side of the fairway if you land in grass. Try hitting your irons off a mound of dirt, doesn''t feel to good if you screw up or hit the ball well. They also pop the people out on the course every 7 minutes so there is often many back-ups. Also you get many people who do not play golf to often and will hit into you or not obey some of golfs simple rules. If you a kid in the area it''s a great place to go. Otherwise I would avoid this place. With a nickname of "crapplewood" , "appleweed" or more recently just plain "appleDIRT" you know you shouldn''t go here.

Customer Service

Nothing special.

Not sure how another reviewer can give this course 5 stars, as Applewood (referred to by many as Appleweed) is one of the worst managed courses in the Denver area. And its too bad too, as the course itself has some good holes and is generally fun to play. However, 3 problems kill any fun you will have at the course: 1) Course Management. Managed by American Golf, Applewood is generally in bad shape, with exposed divots aplenty, ball-marked greens, and rock-hard traps that you can putt out of. 2) Driving Range. You have a choice of mats or grass, but the grass is mostly dirt and many of the mats are in shambles. Range balls are cut up, many are unusable. 3) Pace of play. The 4 times I have played Applewood, I have never started on time, and have never finished 9 in less than 2:30, and 18 in less than 4:45. The problem is that players are sent off every 7 minutes which bogs down the course, causing multi-group backups at the par 3's and short 4's.

Overall this is a very fun and good kept golf course. I play about 10 rounds here every year and every time I go its great. The maintenece is very good the greens and tees are kept very good ( a few years ago the greens were a little rough but are very nice now). The fairways are alright it seems sometimes I go the grass is a little long, not rough length or anything but it could be shorter. Pace of play is very good almost no troubles with that. The course can be very challenging the first couple of times you play but after awhile you will know where to hit your shots.Applewood is a very nice place to play cheap prices nice people good pro shop and snack bar. The driving range is my favorite ive played very big and open about 300 yards long.

Customer Service

almost all of the time its great there was one time me and my cousin were about 2 minutes late for our tee time cuz we couldnt get a ride ( were only 15 and 14) the lady that was at the counter was very rude she acted like we were a hour late and we ended up waiting about 1 and half hours to tee off

Applewood probably doesn't deserve all the derisive comments, and it's in better shape now than when American Golf first took over. I suspect most of that is due to increasing the amount of "native area" and thus reducing the watering & maintenance requirements!

This is a fun course with some interesting holes, and it's usually pretty easy to get a tee time. Nothing spectacular, some tricked-up stuff, and the front nine isn't much of a challenge.
