Shoots in the 90s

Course is in excellent condition. Generous fairways on front 9, with water in play on a few holes. Much tighter fairways on back 9. The #10 peninsula green is very interesting. Quite a few elevation changes. There are plenty of opportunities for birdies. Bunkers have soft lush sand. Large multi tiered greens, probably stimp about 8+ or 9-. Practice putting green, chipping/sand trap are nice. Practice range too.
Course is very scenic and near I-80 & the Poconos.
Newly renovated (rebuilt) clubhouse is exquisite.
Well stocked, reasonably priced pro shop is a plus.
Rates a bit pricey for the area, but specials are available.

Customer Service

Pro is very personable and well experienced.

Shoots in the 70s

A once beautiful green gem that fell off miserably is starting its return ! This course has a top notch layout which includes big sloping greens, a shared green, an island green, abundunt water, open fairways, and tight fairways. A nice mix. Greens have gotten better, but still a bit slow to my liking. I think they need to roll them. Fairways are cut, but not very tight. Well maintained course for the most part. You'll enjoy the #10 down-the-shoot, 320 yd island green par 4. The green itself has to be 100 yds !
As for the facilities, you can tell they were top-notch at one time, but they've deteriorated a bit and need some updating. Nice secluded practice green, practice bunker, and convenient driving range.

Customer Service

Nice, helpful people. Smallish proshop.

Shoot in the 90s

I played this course for the first time on my father's recommendation. He said it was a well maintained course with wide open fairways without many chances to lose balls. He was right on all accounts. The greens were in good condition, the teeboxes and fairways were well manicured, even the woods lining the fairways were well maintained. As an added bonus, at 12:00 on a Saturday morning in May, the course was practically empty. As far as difficulty, the course is a fairly interesting layout. The thing that makes it challenging is the extreme changes in elevation, especially on teh back side. Several holes play straight down steep inclines. These holes are a lot of fun to pull out the driver and watch the ball roll and roll and roll. I was able to get 320 yards out of the downhill roll on the 14th hole (I usually hit my driver about 230-245 yards). The downside to all the elevation change is hitting back up the same incline on some of the other holes. The par 5 ninth is especiallly brutal. The water on both sides of the fairway and the stiff wind in our face made the tee shot particularly intimidating. With the hills such as they are, I wouldn't recommend walking the course, especially if you have a couple of heart patients in your foursome like we did. Overall the course provides a good test of golfing skills with enough difficulty to challenge low handicappers and enough open space to for the rest of us grip it and rip it wihout having to worry about having enough balls.

Customer Service

People in the pro shop were friendly and ready to help.
