Shoots in the 80s

Accessible only by boat, there are two public courses on the island (there is one additional private course). Melrose is a Nicklaus design, fairly traditional in layout but interesting and challenging; I have played a few Nicklaus courses and this is my favorite by far. Just a few holes on the water, but still a nice island feel. Bloody Point - designed by Tom Weiscoff - is very different: no cart paths, not a lot of bunkers, this is the one that makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean, which is a lot of fun. Melrose is definitely the better golf test of the two, however. This is a great day trip, as you ferry over and back - ideal as part of a golf trip. There are accomodations on the island if you want to stay, rather pricey, however. The only negative is that the service can be spotty. I've done it three times, and two of the trips were great. The third, however, was a nightmare! Only one of the usual two ferries was available, there was no communication to the guests, clubs were delayed, the course played slow, and the service was abominable - the WORST I have experienced at anything approaching a first class facility/resort. That said, I still go back each year because it is such a unique trip...

From the back tees this is one of the most difficult courses I have ever played. You need to be long off the tee and to be able to control your ball. The two best things about this course are the ocean views and its your own private golf course! You probably will not see any other humans out on the golf course, but you will see abundant wildlife. It your own private course for the day! It''s awesome!

This is one of the most relaxing places in the world to play golf. I have played hear 4 times and can not get enough of it. The conditions, food and service are second to none. There are 2 courses on the island only accessible through ferry. They are both fun courses and worth a day trip.
