This is probably the best I've ever played in my life!! A couple years ago my buddy and I began taking golf trips to the Upcountry of SC and happened across this gem!! This is one of the most beautiful courses I've ever seen!! This is a must on our itenerary every time we go down to SC. What an incrredible challenge, but fun to boot. With the huge houses and water scattered around the course, in places it's so serene!!

Customer Service

I do have to agree with other posters. This place does get crowded sometimes. We book our tee time thru a golf package company and we showed up to play at our tee time and we weren't even on the books. But the staff let us go anyway. We had to start on hole 7, but we enjoyed ourselves regardless. The restaraunt/bar has excellent food and drinks. And sitting on the porch overlooking the course is a great way to unwind after a round.

I've played this course many times since it opened. I've improved as a golfer since I first played it, but it is still a wonderful course for moderate ability players. The visual landscape is cool in places. There are some unique holes like a short down hill par four hanging on the edge of a hill with a blind 2nd shot to a smallish green with a rock wall on one side of it and a river on the otherside. The greens are bent grass and can play fast. Gary Player designed the greens with his classic flat but tiered levels. I think it will be well worth your time to come play. I have family in area so, I get there once in a while and always look forward to it.

Customer Service

The pro shop guys are usually great and I do agree with a privious reviewer comment that they do sometimes overbook and the pace can be painful. I suggest sunday morning, but don't come when I'm in town please.

Well it looks I have finally found someone who actually enjoys this course. I know golfers on all skill levels and no one I know enjoys playing here. It is a well kept and challenging course I must admit. However the two biggest concerns are the crowds and the layout. They send people without enough time in between. Everytime I've played they have been stacked up at least 5 groups on the first tee. Then you have to wait between every shot! That is the biggest problem and the lesser one is the layout. It's what I call Donkey Kong golf. You may come to an intersection on the path and have three directions to choose from with no markings. Then you wind up criss-crossing and backtracking several times to get around the course. This would be a nice course if they could stop being greedy and trying to pack the course all day. Oh and the black tees make it an extrordinary challenge. Reasonably priced.

Customer Service

Pro shop guys were friendly, but the starters were jerks. Barking at everyone to hurry up and wait.

Chopping Block Restaurant is really nice. Foods pricy but it's a nice place to get a drink after 18.

This course is a premium value. The layout is both challenging and very visually appealing. The diversity and varied design of the various holes keeps the player from the feeling of repeating holes. Staff is also great to deal with. Strongly recommend!

This is one of the premiere golf courses in the upstate of South Carolina. The layout is great, the scenery is beautiful, and it's open to the public. It's kept up too, and very well. This course will challenge everyone, no matter what skill level. If I could afford to, I would play here everyday.

This is in my opinion the best layout of any course in the upper half of south carolina. The price is reasonable, and it is plenty challanging from the back tees. THis is probably the best couse for your money in south carolina, and I've played a lot.
