An older course, FCC golf course was constructed in 1929 in one of the few hilly areas of Florence, South Carolina. At that time, it was a true "country" club, but today FCC is located in the middle of one of the more exclusive neighborhoods in Florence. The eighteen holes have little water-hazard challenge, and the bunkers are kept to a minimum; it is the length of the holes that challenges most golfers, requiring a strong drive coupled with a long and accurate second shot to most of the par 4's.
