Played in mid July 2010. Round set up through a resort. Cheap! Course in good shape, greens are easy to read and pretty true. A bit flat and dogleg redundant. If you hit the ball over 260yds from tee box will need a lot of shaping or 3 wood. I could see going low there with more course knowledge. No yardage book which would help off the tee and no prisms on pins so range finder was spotty. Through all of it the course is a blast. Very playable for all levels and some great holes, par 3 6th is beautiful. Not a lot of trouble on the course. Enjoyed it immensely, probably because I palyed so quickly at a comfortable pace. Nice range as well.

Don't waste your money. Good course but they take your money to decrease dues for members. Called and got first tee time so that we could make mid afternoon flight. Got there 30 minutes early, went to tee with 10 minutes to spare and old man comes riding out...Can I help you? I respond that we have the first tee time and he informs me that they would be letting two groups of members off prior to us. I suggest that there is likely an error and am informed that they do this 6 days of the week. I have no problem with clubs giving priority to their members but not when they inform the paying guests that they have the first time. So two foursomes of elderly members tee off, many of whom hit it the distance most could reach with a putter and then while we wait to hit up to the par 5 1st the members proceed to practice putting after the pin goes in. Reflective of entire attitude towards "guests:---too many good courses on Hilton Head to waste your time & money @ Oyster Reef.
