Shoots in the 80s
We visit Hilton head to golf 3 weeks per year for the last 5 years. We visited this course in October, the downtime in Hilton head. Course was not in great shape. No rangers available to assist with pace of play. An 15 hole round took 4 hours and 45 minutes, we gave up, did not want to continue with wait for every hole. No one was available to speak to about the situation and never received a call back. Customer Service Poor, after we finished the club was closed for a wedding, so had to go eat elsewhere. I played a compilation of the Heritage courses and Port Royal is BY FAR the worst. I was completely let down with the Robbers Row course. The clubhouse, etc looks outstanding but the course is very spotty. Other than the nice HH scenary, you have to deal with torn up greens, hitting off dirt spots, 276 yard par 4s and the course doesn't even take you back to the clubhouse after 9 holes. We had to wait till the 16th hole in order for the cart girl to sell us a soggy turkey sandwich that tasted like it was made 3 days prior.
Customer Service no better or worse than anywhere else |

There are 3 courses here. The Barony had greens replaced in 2002. They sorely needed replacing too. Robber's Row and Planter's Row are ok courses but not worth the money. You would think courses in Hilton Head would all be top notch, but, not the case. There are many courses on the island that are just plain junk!! Be sure to check out any course before you play on Hilton Head. You may be paying $75 - $100 for a terrible day of golf. Oh, during peak times expect a 5+ hour round. Customer Service good at best needs big improvement |
