Played the first tee time (7:38) on 3/16/07 in pretty wet conditions. After hearing positive reports about this course, was a bit disappointed by the condition of the course. Most greens were very bumpy and slow, and fairways were not lush like other mid-range MB courses I've played. The course did seem drain well, as the conditions went from a slow drizzle at the start to a driving rain on the back 9 yet remained maneuverable and the greens were puttable (if you overlooked the inherent bumpiness). Other positives were a friendly, professional, and attentive staff, and well groomed bunkers that released the ball consistently. The course layout is sound and the 13th hole is a lot of fun. If the greens were in better shape, I would agree that this is a good bargain for MB; however, the condition of the greens really ruined this for me. I had been reassured when booking by phone several weeks in advance that all course repair was long over and that it should be in good shape, so it wasn't due to aeration or other repair work. Views of the neighboring strip malls hinder the first few holes, but it does get better as the round goes on. I likely will try a different mid-range option next time I visit the Grand Strand.

Shoots in the 80s

Played in Sep02 -- A very nice Rees Jones layout. Good value for Myrtle Beach. Greens and fairways were soft, but not too fudgy (impressive given recent rain). Overall though, maintenance was not what I expected -- a few greens were sketchy, areas around water hazards were unkept and bunkers need a lot of attention. But well worth the visit (I did have my career round here).

Customer Service

See above. No starter. Nice touch was a card on cart noting water and toilet locations on course.

An usually plentiful supply of toilet sheds on the course (must be designed for incontinent MB residents).

Shoot in the 80s

this is an outstanding golf experience for two reasons...the course is fair and is a traditional lay-out with holes that have character; and it is staffed by people that are determined to make sure you enjoy yourself and who appreciate you selecting theircourse to play. it's nice to play acourse that isn't all tricked out with artificial gimmicks designed to punish rather than challenge!!greens were good although they did suffer some winterkill on onehole, maintenance was goodas well. there are better courses at myrtle beach but for the money there is no better value.

Customer Service
