The magazines always argue over which is the best course in Myrtle Beach. It's tough to say definitively because everyone likes something different. However, if when you say best you mean the combination of location, layout, playability, strategy, condition and esthetics then Dunes is number one in Myrtle BY FAR. That's really all that needs to be said. Just go play there and you'll see for yourself.

The greens are what makes the course. Conquer them and you will score well. The holes on the back nine that border the marsh - #11 - #12 & #13 are gorgeous.
Has a caddie program! The only one in the area.

One of the best courses you will play any day, any where. A classic design by RT Jones, Sr. It is a what you see is what you get golf course that requires proper placement of the tee shot in order to properly approach the green. All of the trouble is in front of the green with deep, steep faced bunkers. Shots must come in high and soft to hold the green.All of the greens are elevated. Each hole is unique and has it's own personality. The course has been in excellent condition every time I play it with greens that run around 10 on the Stimpmeter and that run true with subtle breaks.
This is a must play in Myrtle Beach if you can get on.
