Shoot in the 70s

Played this course in June of 2000. They were redoing one of the holes so they made a makeshift hole on the front nine that was weird. This took away from the full flavor of the course and reduced par to 67 instead of 71.
This is an old style golf course that is fairly plain. The par 3's are pretty good and a couple of the 4's have some challenge to them. The rest of the course is pretty basic. With over 100 courses in this area, this course falls in the bottom third for challenge and maintenance. The upside, if tradition is important to you, is the history behind the course - this is where Sports Illustrated magazine was started and was also the first course in the Myrtle Beach area.
Call before you play to ensure the course is back to 100%.
