Staff ready to please! Ride to practice area and back, easy to follow instructions (90 degree). Returned to area greeted with a cool towel soaked in lemon essence as they cleaned my clubs. Then given free 14" pizza per two players in bar area! What a deal!

One of the best resort golf complexes I have ever played. The staff does it all polite, without an attitude. The 3 courses on site were majestic, Moorland should be photographed for every golfer to see and then they will play!!

The Legends is a great place to play for all levels. You can hear the scottish bag pipes and the high fescue grass and strong winds reminds me of English courses. Greens were in great shape, course is tough, maked you make shots with some elevated and well protected greens. Great place to stay, beautiful town homes with alot of space. Great value.

I have played all the legends courses and enjoy them all. All the courses have tremendous bunkers and can be very intimidating. The fairways are spectaculiar, the ball sits up perfectly, there is no such thing as a bad lie there. Greens are large and undulating, hit the green on the wrong side and it is an easy 3 putt maybe 4. All the courses seem to have a couple of par 4''''s that dare you to go for the green off the drive. make it and the glory is yours, miss and you are punished like you should be. I would go back and play any of these courses they are fantastic. I enjoy this complex tremendously.

Resort golf at it's best. Southern comfort combined with Scottish golf with some Augusta style golf thrown in and you can't lose. Conditions which can't be beat.

Customer Service

We had a group of 60 people playing in a tourney at Legends. We played Moorland, Heathland and Parkland(x2). The service and treatment that we got was fantastic. This group is not the easiest to please, but Legends did a great job. As long as we can get decent packaged rates, we'll be back.

Clubhouse- awesome, Alisa's Pub- awesome, Pro Shop- great but a little pricey(all the discount shops in MB make up for it though). Practice facility- limited driving range but undoubtedly THE best practice green I've ever seen.

True Scottish style links. I loved the look and play of this course. I shot my average, but was scrambling all day long. I have never worked so hard. Lottsa waste bunkers and large greens. I saw a 40' deep pot bunker, which scared the #%@& out of me. I got out of one that was about 15' deep and that was no small task. I really like the the feel of this resort and am considering staying there next year. The feel was all Scot, right down to the bag pipe player who wandered around the club house are. The club house top shelf, and the staff was among the best.

Last year we played the Moorland course and loved it. This year we stayed there and played all 3 of the Legends as well as Oyster Bay.

Moorland - see my last review.

Heathland - My best scorre of the year. The course playes the easiest of the three at Legends. Brisish style links. Lots of bunkers and rolling hills. No waste bunkers. Large true rolling greens. Because some many trees have been clear cut, there is a lot of wind to contend with that further enhances the links experience.

Parkland - Totally different from Haeathland and Moorland. This course was tighter and had more forced carries than the other two. I found it to be the most challenging of the three Legends course. This course is probably more like your local country club or municipal course in desgin and style.

Oyster Bay - This is another of Legends premiere courses along with Marsh Harbor and The Heritage. It is very attractive course. There are large marsh lands in play and all around the course. There are some great holes to play here. The bunkers are challenging due to the coral based sand that is used. Many of the holes are highlighted with oyster shells that is very attractive and distinctive.

The Legends Resort and complex - The villa we stayed in was 2 bedrooms and backed up to #8 on the Parkland course. It was spacious enough for our group. The Alisa pub was great and we got passes for free drinks there with our package. They also have a modest menu and a number of different buffets, depending on the day. The practice area is the best I have seen. The grass tees are the largest I have seen as was the putting green. The chipping green and practice bunkers were the best I have seen. The clubhouse is large and well staffed and stocked.

Re: The Moorland Course at The Legends Complex

I played this course about three years ago now and it still remains my all-time best golf experience. The Scottish links style Moorland Course is an absolute visual stunner with playability to match.

The beautiful fairways with rolling undulations carve through open park land and offer a multitude of challenges with the various lies they produce. They are lined with long golden fescue (sp?) grasses which really accentuate the links golf flavor.

The large greens are very receptive to approach shots, also with very dramatic curves and undulations. They putt a bit on the fast side but are pure and true.

The course is littered with ominous, hellish pot bunkers throughout. Posing as much a real threat as they do a visually daunting one. One bunker really emphasizes this point as it stands deviously before a short par 4 hole (only about 280-300 yards), aptly named "Hell's Half Acre." A shot at the pin has to carry some wasteland and some horrendous trouble. A risk worth taking? There is ample room to the right for the more frugle bailout, with plenty of fairway to assist an easy second shot. However, the goodly golfers within us must fend off evil by challenging this devious temptation! So, the goodly golfer I am, I took dead-aim and lofted a beautifully accurate and long drive right for the pin. The ball flew so angelically, straight and true.... and a foot short. It smacked right into the lip of the cavernous pot bunker guarding the front of the green and dropped some 15 to 20 feet within its insatiable mouth. I needn't continue on the feats, or lack there of, which ensued.

The clubhouse is a startling beauty. Neatly modeled in a distinguished scottish design. It overlooks the wind-swept fairways that seemingly branch out from it's shadow. The elegant display is rivaled only by the content within. There's an excellent pro shop with a wide variety of items in which the visitor will surely like to indulge. The practice facility is first class and the complex offers golf packages to those who opt to stay on-site in their Villas. Definitely something I'll try in the near future.

Overall, this course offers and excellent adventure in golf, and an experience to remember. The beautifully maintained courses, professional staff, and commendable facility as a whole, easily encourages this reviewer to come back again and again.

A highly recommended experience for the travelling golfer!
