Overall course was mediocre but the greens were horrible. They told us that they tried to kill the rye grass and ended up killing everything. Plan on putting on dirt greens!

Customer Service

Pro Shop were excellent but the starter was rude.

Nothing compared to the lack of grass on the greens at Tidewater.

Top Ten in Grand Strand

Beautiful course with some of the best par threes anywhere. Fairways are a little hard but all in all one of the top tier courses in the area.

Shoots in the 80s

Played in June 2007. During play you can see that the course could be considered as one of the top courses in MB; however, the poor watering system, poor markings in the fairways and dry crusty greens and fairways (not to mention the ongoing construction of the new cart paths) make this course not worth the $$$. There are many better values currently in MB.

I CONSIDER THIS THE MECCA OF MYRTLE BEACH GOLF. HAVE PLAYED TIDEWATER ON AT LEAST 20 OCCASIONS AND I KEEP GOING BACK. A TREMENDOUS WALK IN THE PARK NO 2 HOLES ARE ALIKE AND MOST ARE HIDDEN FROM DAILY LIFE. TRANQUILITY AT ITS BEST...ALSO A GREAT GOLF CHALLENGE....TRY TO FIT IT IN ON YOUR NEXT TRIP...

A first class operation and a "must"play in Myrtle. Great layout, it''s right in front of you, so go get. Great use of water and marsh. Course in excellent shape and well run. Highly recommended. Back nine is longer and tougher.

Customer Service

Very good and polite staff.

Shoot in the 80s

Played Tidewater on 6/12/01. This is a great layout and while most of the course was in great shape we did find that it was spotty in some of the fairways which we couldn't understand because it is under the Troon mgmt. umbrella. The greens were in pretty good shape and rolled about a 10. We played what I would consider 10 of the best 12-15 courses in the Myrtle Beach area (TPC, Pawleys, Dunes, Tidewater, Barefoot Dye, Barefoot Love, Wild Wing Falcon, Wild Wing Avocet, Tigers Eye and Rivers Edge) and of that group I would put Tidewater in the 4th or 5th slot.

We really enjoyed the track a solid course without being tricked up. No. 9 is a par 3 and I think 9's should neither begin nor end with a par 3 but I got over it. If you can hit your irons to the right side of the holes you can score well.

Shoot in the 70s

Played here on 2/18/2001 on pkg deal. Terrific course in excellent condition. For February, the course was in splendid shape. Some really interesting and challenging holes on this track, particularly the par 3s--#s 3 and 12 come to mind first. I wouldn't pay the $150 they charge for non-pkg deals, but it may be worth $100 to play it once.

Customer Service

Friendly, helpful staff.

Shoot in the 80s

This course is an absolute "must play" for the vacationer to the Myrtle Beach area. It is meticulously maintained, a beautiful layout with its classic design. It winds through some woodlands with a few holes lining the inlet. Two, very challenging, picture perfect par 3's into or with the wind off the marshy bay, dare you to be aggressive. The greens are shaved low and are a bit fast but receive shots surprisingly well and they roll sure and true.
The staff was tremendous in their treatment of guests. I couldn't walk five feet without a staff member's friendly, "how are you, sir? Have a great day." They had pyramids of balls ready for the hitting with a range "liason" to cue your scheduled arrival to the 1st tee. An overall, tremendous golf experience. One that this poster is sure to visit again!

Customer Service

We had trouble with our rental car and missed our tee time, miserably. Set to retreat to the hotel, we decided to call. They were tremendous, telling us to "come between 12:00 and 1:30, and we'll get you right out." A full 4 hours after our original time. We really had the sense that these were truly nice people who enjoyed where they worked and took pride in the guests' fine experiences.
