Shoots in the 90s

Great course for the money, and to see what it looked like before the renovations really makes one appreciate a great course. This course has a lot of water (and gators), but holes are very playable. It can be easy for players to loose balls, but consistent drives makes for a fun golf day. Compared to courses in Indiana (where I'm from) and the cost to play a nice course there...this is by far the nicest in the Beaufort area. The maintenance crew is getting better at keeping the fairways and greens consistent. You should get a tee time if in the area.

Shoots in the 90s

Rated one of the Top 10 US Military courses in the world. Tucked out of the way on the Recruit Depot, The Legends is a beautiful course. Not Augusta, but excellent for the price. It offers a few challenging holes, but fairly straight forward. The greens and fairways are very well taken care of, but the greens tend to be a little slow. If ever in Beaufort, you should stop by and play a round.

Shoot in the 90s

The only positive thing to say about this course is that it is cheap and they give you free coffee. The course design is very plain and flat with no dramatic shot making opportunities. It almost feels as if you are practicing on the range. In addition to the poor course design, this course is not maintained well either. Be prepared to be eaten alive by mosquitos. With all the nearby courses in Hilton Head and Bluffton, I see no reason to waste your time at "The Legends."

Shoot in the 80s

Best course for the money in the entire Beaufort, SC area. It was hidden deep on the Parris Island Marine Training Base but is open to the public. No tee times are taken Monday through Thursday, but if you show up before 9 am you won't have a problem getting out. We played at the end of February and the course was completely green...they must have overseeded the whole course with rye grass. The tees, fairways and greens were spectaclular. The course is pretty straight-forward but offers some very challenging holes. Cost was around $32 for 18 holes w cart. $12 for replay.

Customer Service

Very nice people. Don't be intimidated bc of the location.
