This is one of the two or three best courses I have played in Tennessee. The price is somewhat high but it is worth it one time. There is nothing special about the course but it is just a great course.

I did the three-stop Bear Trace tour last weekend with 7 college buddies--Crossville, Chattanooga (reviewed Harrison Bay earlier) and Tims Ford. I liked Harrison the best and Tims Ford was my second favorite. Really good condition, lots of interesting holes...you can run the ball up on a number of the greens.....bunkers generally around landing areas as well as greens. You will need to put the ball in the right part of the fairway to have a decent approach...you will also need to hit to the right areas of each green as they have a lot of slope on them. I would recommend a high-spin ball to hold these firm greens.

Customer Service

Very good customer service...Bear Trace is going to take away some of the RTJones Trail customers. I have played three of the Jones Trail courses too and these Bear Trace courses I like a little better as far as design goes.

I think this is the best of the Bear Trace courses to date. The greens are in great shape and very challenging if you are not in the right spot. Overall condition of the course was excellent. Better keep your ball in the fairway or you stand a good chance of losing it in the rough. This course will challenge all levels of players, however better players may find it more enjoyable, and appreciate some of the shots needed more than higher handicap players.

Customer Service

Tee times were extremely easy to get and the pro really worked to get the groups off at their assigned times. Never did I feel rushed however. Will definitely make the hour long drive to play this course anytime.

The head pro was great,he allowed our group to go off the back when the groups began backing up on the first tee.The pro shop was not completed when I played so I cannot comment on it.

hmmm, this is a Nicklaus course, so that should give you a good idea about the bunkers. Pretty much what you would expect. Course is in good shape. We have had lots of rain so fairways and greens are real nice right now. Play fairly smart and it is not a hard course at all. A should play course if you are in the area. I am not a great player and managed some good scores below my handicap (mid 80's comapred to 90's on home course Arnold AFB). Toughest thing here is the rough. Long thick grass about waist high. If you miss the fairway, kiss the ball goodbye

This is the only Nicklaus course I have played and was a little disappointed after reading all the rave reviews. It was in good shape but watch out for the severe rough. Fairways are generous and not too hard to hit. If you miss the green, get ready for a challenging recovery shot. Once on the green, 3 putting is no problem if you're not careful. Fast and undulating is one of Jack's signatures. A few holes are scenic, but the majority are forgetable.

Customer Service

Hard to find this course. A little pricey for a state facility.

Great course! I grew up around that area. They did really well with the land. Lake view on alot of the holes. Fairly long from the back tees. If you go, go after 3 p.m. It's a little cheaper. A must if your in the area.
