Shoots in the 80s

There are four 18-hole courses at Barton Creek Country Club. The Canyons is easily the best. Not a lot of housing development on the Canyons, and the course conditions are fantastic almost year-round. The Foothills course is my next favorite (both Canyons and Foothills were designed by Fazio), with several challenging holes in a hilly environment. The Crenshaw course is nice, but very tight at times. I have not played the Lakes course.

Customer Service

The staff at Barton Creek is courteous and friendly. The resort is first class.

The Canyons course is nice at Barton Creek, I will give you that. But, I was expecting much more. I played the other two courses near the hotel, and aside from the nice houses, the courses were disappointing. The Crenshaw course was unkept and looked more like an old muni course. The Fazio course near the hotel was nice, but certainly not worth having to stay in the hotel and pay top dollar for. The hotel staff was excellent. The golf staff at the hotel was indifferent at best.

Shoot in the 90s

I grew up playing at barton creek. It is the nicest golf course around. their greens are excellent and well kept. the service is friendly. The driving range and putting and chipping green are nice and green all year round. I recommend that if you get the chance play there you won't forget it.

I played the new Fazio II (Canyons) course. It is about two miles from the main compound and cannot be seen from the road. Nicely nessled in the hills. My experience started out with the friendly attendent at the bag drop who got my cart for me which was waiting outside the pro shop. The attended driving range was equally wonderful. Each time I changed clubs, my clubs were wiped clean, and they kept giving me tees and range balls. The course will certainly rank #1 in Texas when the reviews are all in. Incredible beauty, great challenges, nice tees and greens. The most scenic outdoor experience ever. Two green must be reached by crossing stones over a babbling brook which is on almost every hole, as it thick rough. No houses or buildings to spoil the mood. Tom Fazio has done it again. This is an experience not to be missed. Better than you can imagine. Have I said enough good things yet. If you are not a member, you can stay at the resort ($230 per night) and play this course ($170)! Wow. It's worth it.
