Shoots in the 80s

Played Jimmy Clay in a tournament June 12th and it was in the best shape I've seen it in a long while. Fairways really lush and the rough gave you no roll due to being thick. Greens were in good shape and the mature trees made shot placement a premium. 2 very short par 3's give you a chance for easy birdies and the par 4's are a good test of skill. The newer island green is a fun one to play. Enough sand and water to keep you on your toes.

Customer Service

Kizer is a really fun links golf course. ("Links" refers to courses that, for the most part, have no trees. Think "British Open") The rough is the only penalty for missing the fairway, but it is left deep. The wind is also a big factor due to the dearth of trees. There are 4 sets of tee boxes so if you think the course is too short for you try the back set. I promise this course plays much much much harder from back there. It's always in really good shape for a Muni and the it has a nice driving range to warm up on. If you want a really stress free fun round of Golf give Kizer a try.

This was a nice links course. Had nice greens, layout was not too difficult but yet had some challenging holes. I particularly liked the par 3's. I know I will score better if I play again, water will come into play if you do not know the course.

Customer Service

Staff was helpful and courteous. My tee time was arranged for me and was messed up and they got me right off.

Shoot in the 80s

Kizer is a true links course and a change from the other Austin courses. Wide open holes and plenty of water and sand keeps any golfer on their toes. Best to find out the exact yardage before hitting your approach shots as without trees you don't have a true reading with your depth perception and easy to be short or long to the green. Many small mounds and hills add to the layout. Fun to play and a favorite of anyone who has played there.

Good practice range and putting greens to warm up for your round.
