Shoot in the 90s

Decent cheap public course. The back nine is new and is much better than the original front nine. Play the back twice if you can. The front is a flat hot boring nine. Great place for long drives since they roll forever. The back nine is hilly, fun, and a much better experience. Better fairways and better maintained. The Houston toad is a problem and it took the driving range out (EPA). The story is in the sixties when this was a nine hole course, there were no golf carts. They hollowed out old cars and your clubs went in the trunk. If you are looking for a good deal for golf in Bastrop, try Pine Forest. If you want to throw your money away ($65), try Colo Vista. Lost pines is great if you are camping there. No practice facilities though. Ribbit.
