Shoots in the 80s

I played the course on one of the hottest days of the year, 8/26/11. Consequently my three partners and I had little or no company on the course. We had a great time together. Unfortunately, I have nothing good to report about the course itself. It appears as a shell of it's former self. Drought conditions aside, it was poorly maintained. They had aerated and top-soiled the greens a few days before, but provided no info about this, either on the website or in the pro shop. The inside staff offered no discount to us and little or no welcome other than to take our money. I have played many of these theme courses prior and like the connection to golf's storied past, so the detailed inscriptions on each hole provided a needed respite from the poor conditions. This course in NOT worth playing, and certainly not worth the money. For $60 in the middle oef the summer, one should expect a well-maintained course and positive reception; we received neither.

Shoots in the 100s

My buddies and I played the course on Feb. 28th 2009. The course was in really good shape, the bunkers were PGA tour quality. Greens were a bit inconsistent in their speed, but they were in good shape.

They still have problems with the slow play, the 10th tee box was 3 groups deep when we got to it. Just allow your self a good 5 hours to play the course to be safe.

All and all, we had a great time, I would love to go back during the late spring, early summer when the landscape is green, especially Amens corner, the landscape was in great shape for those 3 holes.

Customer Service

Customer service was good. The guys in the pro shop were nice and friendly, and the grill while expensive, they were also nice and gave good service.

Model Reviewed: Tour 18 Dallas course

I first heard about this course a couple of years ago and have been waiting eagerly for a chance to play it. I wasn’t disappointed, though it was over-priced at $90 per player. That didn’t include range balls either! The course is located in a very upscale neighborhood in Flower Mound, TX near Dallas. Not all holes are lined with houses; many had dense areas of trees or woods lining fairways. The clubhouse and adjoining restaurant/bar are very upscale too. Holes from several famous courses are accurately reproduced, from what I could tell. The island green at TPC Sawgrass #17, and Amen corner at Augusta (#11-13) , and #3 from the Blue Monster at Doral were the most recognizeable recreations. I actually parred the Sawgrass island green, and recreations of Augusta #12 and #13. The fairways and greens were in good shape for November, but the bunkers had a very thin layer of sand on top of black mats taking some enjoyment away. I’d like to play it again in the spring or early summer, when the scenery is probably spectacular.

This course is fun once, then the novelty starts to wear off. By the second or third round you begin to notice the pompous attitude of the staff and 5+ hour rounds. The course has a great layout, but its usually chewed up and over-played. If you want to show an out-of-town client a good time take them to Cowboy's golf club instead.

Customer Service

Consistently poor and arrogant. I once went through 3 carts during a round.

the course is perhaps one of the most picturesque of all golf courses in this area, and it has plenty of bite to bring the average golfers to their knees. If you are short, you are in trouble, as the course plays quite long, and many greens have false lips which can increase your score by a substantial margin. overall, it is fun to play, and the clubhouse of goods are an added attraction.

Shoot in the 80s

Course replicates 18 famous holes on courses in US. Last 3 holes replicate Amen Corner at Augusta National. Played on 10/10/2000. Play is started using a shotgun start at 8:00am and then another shotgun start at 1:30pm. Green fees were $75. Greens were lightning fast and fairways were a little rough due to an extremely dry summer. Very picturesque course as you might imagine. Very tough course. You must hit your ball straight as out of bounds awaits you on many holes. #9 hole is island green of Sawgrass. I put 3 in the water. Bring plenty of balls.

Our cart's tire went flat about 5 holes out. We pushed a button on our GPS screen to indicate a different cart was needed and within 5 minutes a new cart was delivered.
