Shoots in the 90s

My father is a member here so we play it allot and usually have a good time despite the attempts from its employees to ruin it (much more on this later). That being said, he is only a member here because his house is on the course so its easy for him to sneak away for a quick round since it is so close. That being said the course is both challenging and fun and has a little something for everyones game. I dont play allot of different courses but this one is pretty wide open with a few links style holes and a few lined with houses. The carts have GPS which is cool but it also allows the golf police to monitor your every move (and they do, trust me) so if your the kind of player who wants to play at thier own pace and have a good time plan on having your round interupted several times by the marshall urging you to play faster even though we usually complete 18 in about 3 1/2 hours they want you running from shot to shot i guess. Im not the kind of guy who appreciates being told how to play so this bothers me very much especially since most of the time its unwarranted. Its not a cheap course and i think they should lay off the members and thier guests and let them enjoy themselves especially when many times it hasnt been a question of our speed of play but rather the group infront of us and the courses overall congestion from over booking but despite this they have even been so bold as to ask us to skip ahead a few holes to "ease congestion" which im not a fan of either. All in all i would say i like the course allot but have played at other places that respect thier guests more than the employees do here. Also, dont eat at the country club as it is the worst food i have ever eaten and employs only one person who is expected to serve everyone dinning there as well as the course walk-ins which is simply too much for one person to do reasonably do well. Further adding to this problem is the fact that in the five times i have played here i have NEVER seen the food stand on the course open and serving food. You might be lucky to see the beverage cart girl once a round and since you cant bring beverages with you its a bit of a problem with these 100+ degree days weve been having for a few months straight now. All in all they have a long way to go to bring the level of service up to the level of the course.

Customer Service

Definately the weak spot of this course. I dont normally write reviews but felt compelled to here since this is by far the weakest aspect of this facility. I do not feel the level of service is befitting the course here and wish they would do something about it. Just this past weekend we had trouble from the get go since the cart didnt have a score card, pencil or tees and had trash from prevous guests still in it. Then on hole one we had a run in with the marshal regarding our tee time which was apparently tripple booked (more of a pro shop error im sure but never the less no way to start a round). We didnt see the beverage cart girl until the 11th hole and she had nothing but warm gatorade but did offer us cups of ice. The beverage stand was closed even on a Saturday that was packed (why have one at all then?) I could go on about prevous bad experiences here but am out of space so i'll end by saying this... They need fresh management here because customer service is lacking in EVERY department of this club which would other wise be one of my favorites to play. As it stands i only play here for my fathers sake and would never open MY wallet with service as bad as it stands.

THis is a very challenging course for a weekend player like me. The first time out, I had a 2-3 water balls and 2-3 lost balls -- with at least half those due to unfamiliarity with the course and blind or semi-blind shots. There is a GPS display in the carts, though, so if I had paid more careful attention I might have avoided some of that trouble. I like the course -- except for the price. Value is important to me, and I can have almost as much fun at simpler courses for much less money.

Shoot in the 70s

Very nice Arnold Palmer design with lots of interesting holes. Several challenging holes play over a creek with a cool-looking limestone face in front of the green. Several more fairly tough holes play around a lake. There are a few holes that are kind of links-like. Conditioning is good, considering it's a public course, with lots of unfixed ball marks and divots. I enjoyed it a lot. I think it deserves 4 stars, but Golf Digest gives it 3 1/2. Green fee is less than $100, pretty average for upscale Dallas area courses. GPS system on carts is nice.
