Nice course but the greens were in BAD shape. 15-20 big repair patches on all of them. Call them to see how the greens are before you spend the cash to play there.

Customer Service

ok, but courses should disclose what the condition of the course is like. (a lemon law for golf courses)

Greens are the worst in Dallas/Fort Worth. Couldn't even putt on number 14. Good layout, but awful greens.

Excellent course, very well maintained. Bentgrass greens roll very true. Tees and bermuda fairways also in excellent shape. Greens have interesting contures and the layout has some elavation change...which is not normal in a Dallas public course.

Customer Service

Staff is very helpful and friendly.

I play golf on my rare break from school (normally a week or two in the summer),and that normally means I play in the heat of summer;therefore, during this time,I spend more on courses with great conditions that still allow me to take a divot (instead of making a giant cloud of dust on the burnt grass like most public courses this time of year.) This course is a very fair course, provided you pick the right set of tees for you;for example,if you carry the ball 200 yards, don't play the very back tees, because the fairways on this course are very lush and don't roll very far.If you play from to far back, you'll end up hitting long irons and lofted woods on this course for approaches nearly all the time (it has some big par fours.)It's hard to be anywhere in Texas this time of year and manage good conditions, but Tangle Ridge comes through every time.I would reiterate everything the previous reviewer said, adding this:when you visit this course, please repair your ball marks-to keep bentrgrass in Texas is terribly expensive-please practice etiquette. A must for the higher handicapper at Tanglewood is a short game-you will problably find sand or swales on this course 70% of the time if you miss the green. This is what makes this course challenging-it has bunkers, swales, and elevation variations causing 2-3 clubs difference in shots.Enjoy this course while you can and be kind.Thanks.
