Shoots in the 80s

Texaco is an old course built in the 1920s. It was a private club for employees of Texaco. It is open to the public. The price is good and the course is easy to walk, as that is how the course was designed. Greens are small and the holes are interesting without being extremely difficult. Course condition is usually below average but it is still one of my favorites.

First you have to understand the course. The course has been around since the 1930's as a retreat for the workers of Texaco. It was a small golf course with a few holes, it had lodges on the Greens Bayou and places for the workers to relax. The course funded itself with the dues that the members paid and the greens fees that they collected. The course is not that bad, the greens could use some work, and they grass could use a few weeks with no play. The layout is not that bad, old school tree lined fairways with only 2 par 4's over 400 yards. They course if fun to play, my main problem is the green's. They have always ran slow, but for the money it is not that bad.

Customer Service

The people there are great. I have been playing golf there for quit some time now, and everybody that works there is really nice. It is the type of place where everybody knows everybody. Great homey type of place.
