i love this wide-open course! i have a special affection for Star Ranch as i broke 80 here for the first time. it is set up with at least four tee-boxes to choose from, each offering a new level of difficulty. the course has always been well manicured, has excellent yardage markings throughout, and the greens are in great shape. the greens are undulated, fast, but hold well. it used to be known as having the most sand bunkers in Texas (don't know if that's still true), but most don't matter if you play smart. their "all you can speacials" make it a truly unique experience, but i would be back often even without those specials. there is usually a prevailing wind into many of the holes, helping on others.

This is really a fun course to play. It's wide open on many holes which allows you to use your driver the whole round. Not a real long course, but it is usually windy and one of the par 5's usually plays into the wind. At 582 yards it can be a beast! The best thing about this course is the all you can specials. Pay one price, $44 weekdays, and you get free breakfast and lunch buffets, free non-alcoholic drinks, and play as many rounds as you like. If you're in the area, make sure this course is on your list.
