Shoots in the 80s

Llano River is a fun course to play that has a variety of holes to score well or hurt your feelings. The front 9 is hilly, narrow & tree lined. Several blind shots that require accurate drives but the course is not too long. The back 9 is more wide-open with grass bunkers around the greens-4 holes have tabletop-like greens so rolling over & off are easy to do. Most greens have a lot of slope to them so good lag putting is a must. Scenic views of the Llano River & natural terrain make this one of the best hidden gems in the Hill Country.

Customer Service

Friendly staff. Good bargain & our 3-some played 18 holes in 3 hours.

Shoots in the 90s

Nice course, several reachable par 5's. Hole #8 is a driveable par 4. Hole # 2 is a par 3 over an old granite quarry; interesting.
Used to be a 9-hole, converted to 18. Back nine is like a completely different course: more trees, tighter fairways, a LOT more elevation change.
Few bunkers and many are grass bunkers. Virtually no water hazards unless you duck hook into the river, then it's GONE ;^) . One dry creek in back.
Most of the greens were redone in front and those are now elevated. The greens are always in good condition and are undulating.
Can easily be walked.
Nice driving range. Practice putting green is small.

Customer Service

Average. Muni course, city employees.
Friendly.
