Shoots in the 90s

I played after recent rains and the drainage was good except for on 18 where there was a little standing water.

Nice greens in god shape but firm. Some undulation but very fair.

Dog legs and undulating fairways make this course interesting. It is definetly chasllenging but there are some holes where it is more strategic rather than just long. I did not notice the rough being long at all. Fairways in good shape considering the rains. They are also generally wide with some moderate bunkering.

Overall I really enjoyed this course and want to go back soon. It gives you a chance to score well but is a championship level venue at the same time.

I played on a day they had a Sunday $35 special thus the high value rating i gave it.

Customer Service

Not particularly service oriented but friendly and efficient Pro shop and staff. That is exactly how i like it.

Played when the course was wet but still playable. Drainage was good except on 18 where there was a little standing water.

Nice course, greens in great shape although hard (even after recent rains). The greens have some undulation but not enough to make putting too difficult. Undulating fairways and dog legs make this course interesting. I found it very challenging but still a very fair course (i.e. fairways generally were wide, short rough). Pro shop was efficient and friendly although not a service oriented kind of thing. But I don't really care for bag drops, range attendents etc anyway.

I would have liked more yardage markers on the course and I had to play cart path only so that added to the difficulty.

I played on a day they had a special thus the value rating.

Nice course but don't go in the rough! U.S. Open style that makes it very hard to even see your ball, let alone trying to hit out of it.

Buffalo Creek has an excellent lay out. There is a good mix of hole types with no bad ones. The tees, fairways, and bunkers are always in great shape. A few of the greens struggle, but most of them are very good. The clubhouse is unspectacular and at times seems unsupervised. The practice area is exceptional. There are houses along some of the holes, but they are beautiful homes and generally set back far enough that you don't notice them. The course is being closed for Jul-Oct 2003 for green renovations which should make the course top notch again. The fees have come down lately and you can get great deals on golfq.com. The staff is good, but it's not a full service course, which detracts from the overall experience.

Customer Service

Good, but it's not a full service place.

Very nice layout with a nice variety of holes. Can play very differently depending on which tees you choose. Usually in very good condition. The color TV GPS is interesting but a little too gadgety for my taste.

Biggest problem to me is the price. They have jacked it up over the last several years to the point that it is not a good value any more, especially compared to some of the newer daily rate courses in the metroplex. Staff is not the friendliest when I have been there. I think this is another case where they got a good rating early on and have let it go to their head.

This course did absolutely nothing for me. I was questioning from the time I walked into the pro shop who rated this top 5. There is no customer service whatsoever. You carry your own bag, get your own cart, the computers didn't work (not that I cared), and I think they forgot drainage. Given the fact they received a lot of rain, but I played two other area courses the two days before and they were infintely better. The actual layout was alright, nothing great. Oh, another thing that really ticked me off was the greens were airrated (sp?) within a week. I understand the importance of this, but I have no time to play on bumpy, sandy greens with no warning. Don't waste your time or money. Spend it playing much better courses in the area, such as, The Tribute in The Colony, or Sky Creek Ranch in Keller. Much better test, conditions, service, facilities.

A beautiful course, just east of Dallas. This course is annualy selected as one of the five best public courses in Texas.

Looks much easier than it actually plays. A good test of golf. Advantage is the on-cart measuring system
