This course is a must play. The front nine is a well manicured links style layout and the back nine is down in a big hole. All in all, an amazing, beautiful tract.

Customer Service

Friendly!! No complaints.

Well where should I begin. The course is always in great shape, the people are always friendly, the beer cart is never too far away and the back nine is a neat feature. With that said I wouldn't play this course more than once. You should go see it for yourself but after that there is no drawing factor that makes me want to return. The driving range is perpetually full and you know what there isn't a tree on the course so be ready for lots of sun aside from that the design is excessively unchallenging. I am a fan of more traditional golf courses. Most people love the quarried back nine I on the other hand have no liking what-so-ever for the idea. There are plenty better courses in the area but it's worth a visit.

I try to review as if I am a duffer which is what I am.

The Quarry is Shangri-La to a player like myself. It is the best place i've ever played which isnt saying much but still I loved it. Its a pleasure losing a few balls here. The 1st nine holes are good but pale in comparison to the back 9 which is sitting inside what use to be a rock quarry. Your sort of sitting in this bowl surrounded by lots of rocks and boulders with these beautiful greens. This course is definitely the most difficult one ive tried. That being said Im not the most traveled Golf player but the people I played with at the time had been playing a while and really enjoyed the challenge. As Ive said the back nine make for some Golf-Pinball on bad shots as if you hook or slice to much your ball will begin to go from rock to rock careening all over the place. You may as well just say good-bye to the ball and get another.

The greens and fairways are very well taken care of which is a feat in the south Texas driven sun. This is true of all 18 holes. i believe this is a public facility but walking into the clubhouse is breathtaking. Not to many places look that good. People are warm and nice.
The one thing about this place is you pay for what you get. This place will run you about 75.00 more or less. There are twilight times that are cheaper. If your a high handicapper like myself, you may want to skip this course as it is expensive and harder than others in the san antonio area. I will say this , I love coming here. If your a Golf Vacationer , I do not think you will be dissappointed. There arent much better in San Antonio.

Customer Service

Texas friendly one might say.

The layout of this course is very unusual and very challenging. The front nine is a run of the mill nine holes that leave you wondering what the enormous green fee went towards. However, the back nine is superb, the best nine holes in San Antonio. Additionally, the staff is warm and courteous (similar to the Scottsdale treatment at Greyhawk or the Raven.) This is a course that must be seen by every golfer entering San Antonio but don't draw conclusions before the turn.

Customer Service

Wonderful tournament coordination

This is a must where ever you are at in texas. The service was the best i have ever been around. I love it all. I give it a five star all around. I dont think ive played a course like this. The staff treats you like you are at home. They are the best staff. I wish other golf courses could be as nice as this. The fairways were perfect and lush. The greens were at a normal pace. You have to play at this golf course. You are missing out if you dont play at this one. There are a lot of picturesque holes, especially on the back nine. I would pay about 200.00 to play here. Its a beauty. I loved the tee boxes. They werent too high or too low. They were perfect. There was also a beverage cart lady that came around all the time. She was very nice.

Customer Service

I felt welcome for sure. The maintenance was awesome. Tee times were very easy to make.

If you could only play two or three public courses in San Antonio, this would be one of them. Why? Because it has some memorable, picturesque holes. It's a good course for golfer's of all skill levels. It's not too demanding and allows the good golfer to go low.

The front nine is a links style course. The back nine is built in the depths of an old rock quarry. You'll travel deep into the "pit" with interesting shots within the old stone walls of the quarry. Very memorable experience the first time you play it. The back nine is definitely more of a challenge than the front.

The course is centrally located between the airport and downtown. So if you don't have much time to allow for golf during a quick trip to San Antonio, the Quarry is your best chance for a round of golf on your way to the airport.

The greens and fairways are usaully in great shape.

The only complaints I have are about the driving range and the heat. They ran out of room when it came time to build the driving range. It's easy to blow a long iron or wood through the fairway. Occasionally they ask that you not play long irons/woods off the driving range.

And the back nine in the Quarry has a reputation as being very hot during the summer. Protected on all four sides, it seems like you never get a cooling breeze in the quarry. Take an extra beer or two for the back nine. (Hey, it's South Texas - it's gonna be hot no matter where you play in August.)
